Job Description

A biotechnology production company specializing in the manufacturing of therapeutic proteins is seeking an enthusiastic professional. These proteins are produced through cell culture processes in bioreactors, followed by a purification process. The Manufacturing Sciences Analytics and Technology (MSAT) department serves as the scientific backbone enabling these complex biotechnological processes. The project focuses on the protein purification phase of the process.

Based on thorough scientific and technical expertise, you will contribute to improving and monitoring existing processes within the manufacturing site and the organization’s broader network by:

  • Identifying process improvements through in-depth process understanding and data-driven initiatives, aiming to increase yield or process robustness, and generating supporting data packages for implementation at manufacturing scale.
  • Supporting and safeguarding existing production processes through data analysis and monitoring, creating scientific/technical study protocols and reports to support significant changes or assess the impact of deviations in the production process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • You hold a PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Life Sciences, with relevant experience in process development or MSAT-like roles.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You have a strong technical background in large-scale biotechnology manufacturing equipment.
  • You have experience in protein purification (at laboratory and/or manufacturing scale).
  • You are flexible and a strong communicator, able to connect, discuss, and reach compromises with colleagues from other departments or sites.
  • You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, work accurately, and pay attention to detail.
  • You are familiar with various statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • You have an affinity for digital process monitoring systems (including handling large datasets) and data connectivity.
  • You enjoy working in a team and consider yourself a good team player.
