Description

The Procurement Director is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the procurement process within Agomab. This involves setting up and overall management of procurement policies and processes, sourcing, negotiating, contracting and record keeping of service or goods agreements with R&D suppliers or vendors.

Key Responsibilities

The key accountabilities and responsibilities of the Procurement Director include:

Procurement strategy & policies:

  • Define, implement and track procurement strategies as part of a wider business plan;
  • Manage current procurement policies and procedures focusing on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency, track and report key functional metrics aimed at monitoring overall supplier performance, reducing expenses while improving effectiveness and ensuring high quality of services rendered and of goods delivered.

Vendor Relationship and oversight :

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with external suppliers and vendors (including CROs, CMOs, consultants);
  • Act as the go-to person in case of disputes or issues with suppliers, promptly identify solutions while safeguarding relationships;
  • Perform risk management for service contracts and agreements.

(end to end) Contract Management :

  • Negotiate contracting terms in conjunction with the Legal and Corporate Development departments, develop bids and proposals, review and challenge payment schedules in conjunction with R&D project teams and Finance, process purchase orders, maintain a database of suppliers and assist Project teams in reconciliations.

Budget and scope oversight :

  • Collaborate with R&D project teams to ensure clarity and alignment on scope of services outsourced;
  • Collaborate with R&D Financial Analyst to align service contracts with budgetary constraints, all while keeping an eye out for cost saving opportunities.

Market analysis:

  • Analyze market dynamics (trends, prices) in order to identify and evaluate potential (strategic) vendors, compare and contract service quality and costs, dive into the details to uncover cost saving opportunities and efficiencies;
  • Play a consultative role in responsible and sustainable procurement.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • A degree in relevant field (e.g. supply chain management, logistics and business administration);
  • At least 7 years’ experience as a Procurement Manager or Director in a biotech or pharma company, preferably proven experience in negotiating Phase 1&2 clinical trials and CMC contracts;
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market;
  • Proven negotiation, networking and communication skills;
  • Analytical mind and attention to details, experience in collecting and analyzing data.
