To strengthen our Global Manufacturing Procurement team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of:

About our team
At Global Procurement we have embarked onto a transformational journey aimed to leverage best-in-class procurement to contribute to UCB’s ambition to become the patient preferred biopharma leader. Our purpose is to drive sustainable procurement and deliver solutions beyond traditional sourcing whilst leveraging our position as a knowledgeable and trusted partner for our stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
Our team is primarily focused on upstream procurement, sustainability, business partnering, market analysis, risk management, demand management, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.
The Sourcing Manufacturing Operations team covers the entire development, manufacturing and supply organization (DSMO) at UCB, not only in terms of the materials and services we require for our internal manufacturing but also our external network supply of CMOs. The sourcing teams work across a diversified spend portfolio that includes both Product and Technical Investments. The increased complexity and our strong pipeline of new products and projects are important challenges ahead in the development and launch of new products but also for the lifecycle management of commercial medicines.
To this extent we are looking to fill the position ofProcurement Lead,Sourcing Manufacturing Operationsto be based in Brussels, Belgium (preferred) or at one of our main sites in Europe: Bulle, Switzerland or Slough, UK.

You willcontributeby:
- Leading a sourcing team responsible for a spend higher than €1.2 billion which will be growing substantially in the next coming years in the areas of pharma, biologics and gene therapy
- Building solid relationships with Procurement Leads in different technical value streams and the extended stakeholder eco-system to fully understand business requirements
- Lead and engage a team of Sourcing Managers to provide a holistic approach across the value streams and develop subject matter expertise and sound commercial strategies which are well articulated and aligned across the organization
- Aligning and providing strategic guidance to Sourcing Managers in the development and execution of projects
- Develop and streamline the Sourcing to Contract process to ensure is built for efficiency and right governance
- Secure supply and competitive access to existing and new technology capacities on the market to support existing brands and new product launch, to reduce complexity through supplier rationalization, standardization and to drive innovation for categories in scope
- Coach and develop with the aim to build a high performing team
- Providing the business with the market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply markets enabling the development of sound procurement strategies and execution plans
- Coaching stakeholders and peers to gain important business insights, market conditions, supply and compliance risk and the competitive landscape with the aim to leverage global markets and differentiated sourcing strategies
- Managing and nurture external partner’s relationships
For this position we will be looking for someone with the followingexpertise:
- Relevant technical and/or academic background for the role under assignment. You may not have all, and still we would like to hear from you
- Minimum 8 years of experience in similar line management Procurement roles with a background in pharmaceutical industry (preferred) or fast paced and/or diversified industries
- High level of understanding in process design, governance systems and category management
- Ability to develop and coach teams to succeed at both levels (personal development and team impact)
- Mindset and behaviours aligned to our values where compliance, reputation and high ethical standards are core
- Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Fluent in English
