We are a leading original design manufacturer of Audio Visual accessories for the professional AV and systems integrations marketplace with an extensive range of solutions. A long established privately owned company with a global network of offices.

The Opportunity

As part of our ongoing expansion, the opportunity has arisen to join our team in Zaventem Brussels. Working as a key part of the Product Design team, this role will be to oversee and create products from conception through to production, be responsible for product assembly, undertake all aspects of quality control, supplier management and assist the product design team.

We are looking for someone from a varied background. If you have experience or qualifications in mechanical / product design, design engineering or similar using SolidWorks, manufacturing / production, quality control, this opportunity could be for you.

Industry experience would be advantageous. There is a clear path for progression in this role.

Key Duties

· Leading our product design operation in Belgium

· You will be expected to manage the complete product design lifecycle from brainstorming and concept development to project management and production

· Liaising and meeting with suppliers in Europe when required

· General workshop duties such as using a band saw, circular saw and pillar drill etc

· To assist with setting up stands at exhibitions in Europe and internationally when required

· Designing products using SolidWorks CAD software

· Revising existing products

· Creating product assemblies and configurations

· Creating parts lists / BOM’s using SolidWorks

· Creating engineering drawings

· Oversee the quality control process in Europe, adhering to company standards and implementing improvements to the process where necessary

· Physical testing of products

· FEA stress analysis / simulation would be an advantage.

· Producing product instruction manuals (training will be given)

· Rendering photorealistic product images (training will be given)

· Managing product data and general office administration

· Provide technical support to colleagues and customers

Essential Requirements

· Able to speak and report in English. German speaking would also be an advantage.

· Strong 3D CAD design background ideally SolidWorks

· Experience with sheet metal, metal fabrications, aluminium extrusions and plastics would be an advantage

· Experience in the AV industry would be an advantage but not essential

· A good understanding of the design process and manufacturing techniques

· Meticulous attention to detail

· Good team working and communication skills – sketch, written and verbal

· Self-motivated, organised multi-tasker with excellent project management skills that enjoys a varied workload

· Must be able to use initiative, suggest ideas and improvements to products

· Competent using PCs and Windows

· Background in engineering and a track record in a directly similar role would be an advantage

· General workshop skills

· Previous experience with a PDM system will be an advantage but not essential

· Must be able to lift a 25kg weight to chest height (for product testing)
