KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Analyst will be assisting Bruegel fellows in their research and in drafting Bruegel publications – like other Bruegel RAs – but will, in addition, devote a significant share of their time (around 50%, depending on needs) performing specific duties to optimise and ensure the quality of the other RAs’ work:
- Build guidelines for RAs to homogenise how data is used in Bruegel’s projects: how to structure excel files, Stata, R and Python codes to make them comprehensible and replicable by third parties
- Perform quality control to ensure rigorous standards of data replicability (i.e. flawless and well sourced data) before each Bruegel publication i.e. policy papers and blog posts
- Manage data: centralisation of data repeatedly used in Bruegel’s projects after publication of papers to avoid duplication of work by RAs in future similar projects
- Support other RAs in some specific tasks: coding in R/Python, data visualisation (also coordinating with Bruegel’s communication team), etc.
