This role is within a privately held European industrial group recognized for its expertise in high-performance synthetic esters and specialty lubricants. The company operates in technically demanding sectors such as aerospace, defense, automotive, and advanced manufacturing. Role Overview

As Responsable des Opérations, you will lead and oversee all production activities. Reporting to the Plant Director and sitting on the local Management Committee, your mission is to ensure smooth, safe, and cost-effective operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operations comply with safety, environmental, quality, and cost objectives
  • Manage daily and long-term production planning and team leadership
  • Strengthen team versatility through training and internal knowledge transfer
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, S&OP)
  • Coordinate closely with other departments including maintenance, quality, and supply chain

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing industrial operations, ideally in the chemical sector
  • Solid understanding of safety and quality standards
  • Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple activities
  • Experience working with ERP systems (ideally Sage X3)
  • Professional-level English and familiarity with Lean tools and methodologies

Desired Background

  • Candidates should ideally come from a production or factory environment, with experience in sectors such as industrial coatings, lubricants, greases, pharmaceuticals, or automotive
  • Open to cross-border candidates, especially from nearby regions such as Northern France
  • This is a stable operational role with no upward mobility foreseen in the short to medium term
