Are you an expert in General Accounting looking to thrive in an international environment?

Our customer, a global leader in agricultural solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior GL Accountant to join their Accounting team for the Benelux subsidiary.

This is a key role in ensuring the reliability of financial data and contributing to the efficiency of their financial operations.

The Accounting team oversees the financial activities of all companies in Belgium, the Netherlands, and UK, while also providing support for a fifth entity in Switzerland.

The team collaborates closely with various departments, including Purchasing, Customer Service, Human Resources, Treasury, and the Finance Headquarters in India; the latter managing the vendor invoice processing and payments.

As a Senior GL Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Month-end and year-end closing & reporting:
• Payroll entries and provisions such as invoices, taxes, bonuses, etc.
• Validation of monthly sales cut-offs
• Consolidated reporting
• Reconciliations & Financial Oversight:
• Intercompany transactions, VAT reconciliation, account aging, IFRS vs BE GAAP reconciliation
• Oversight of the General Ledger and supplier accounts database
• Cost center updates
• Employee Expenses & Compensation:
• Monitoring salary postings and adjustments
• Bonus tracking and provisions
• Compliance & Audit:
• Ensuring compliance with SOX regulations and audit procedures
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Managing tax declarations and legal filings
• System & Process Support:
• Assisting entities with accounting system usage
• Ensuring adherence to internal financial processes

Who are we looking for?

• You hold amaster/bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent through experience.
• You have 10 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in an international setting.
• Your ‘technical skills’:
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and BE GAAP
• Proficiency in SAP - S4HANA – FI/COPA, VIM, SD, MM, GRC, Concur
• Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of SOX compliance procedures
• You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
