PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

For our Foamglas Plant in Tessenderlo, which produces a sustainable and eco-friendly building insulation material, we are seeking a Senior Buyer Indirect Procurement (Sourcing Lead) who is passionate about procurement and supply chain management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our production plant, managing the Indirect category. The total package consists of sub categories like technical goods, packaging, facility procurement and services contracts. The cash volume of the purchasing package amounts to ca. € 40 million, and the procurement market is mainly situated in Europe. The number of regular suppliers is about 600, about 40 of which are strategic suppliers.

As a Sourcing Lead, you will explore the market and select the best suppliers, monitor market developments on assigned segments, and consult internal partners on market developments. You will negotiate prices and conditions, place orders, and conclude contracts according to the procedures in force. In addition, you will build relations with internal and external partners to cultivate long-term successful relationships where cooperation takes center stage. You will also participate in project teams relating to the assigned segments and make recommendations regarding the improvement of procurement processes.

Your Responsibilities

You will be managing sourcing projects between in the “indirect” area. To be successful in your role you will need to build solid relationship and trust with your direct reports, colleagues, your business stakeholders and the suppliers in your portfolio.

We expect you to conduct activities such as: analyzing business processes, building relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders, running diagnosis activities, benchmarking, preparing plans to achieve successful strategy execution and KPI’s measuring.

• Proactively identify sourcing opportunities and or propose improvement solutions to sharpen the results.
• Analyze industry, demand trends and support management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
• Assist our customers in their purchasing strategy and sourcing activities.
• Manage sourcing projects and initiative, connect with your business stakeholders, conduct negotiation with suppliers and coordinate contract finalization
• Conducting the annual negotiations together with the European commodity leader for 10-15 suppliers and for the other suppliers independently
• Requesting & assessing offers, negotiating prices & conditions and placing orders & concluding contracts
• Informing and instructing other internal parties involved about the changed situations as and where necessary building internal and external partnerships as to cultivate long-term successful relations
• Demonstrable leadership skills, strong team orientation and proven ability to communicate effectively in an international environment
• Bridge builder, organizationally sensitive and able to work cross businesses.
• Ability to switch between strategy and day to day operations, in order to get things done and bringing the organization from “AS IS” to “TO BE” state: resolving supply problems, performing supplier audits and visits.
  
  

Depending on the project you will be working independently with your team, or as a part of a ‘project’ team to execute sourcing initiatives and ensure their successful deployment across the organization.

Requirements

BUSINESS QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7+ relevant experience in Procurement or Supply Chain. Experience in Indirect Category is preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• High level of organization and attention to details
• Demonstrated leadership skills and leading a team of 3 members
• IT skills, SAP preferred
