We are growing our Benelux team and would love for you to join our Brasschaat (Belgium) office
As Senior HR Assistant, you will take ownership of local administrative HR processes and support the HR Business Partner with site topics. You will work in a driven, caring, and fun environment!We are a cross-border business with Belgian and Dutch employees commuting to our Brasschaat office. We have a tool monitoring the activities so that Dutch employees avoid double taxation.
We offer a hybrid work model – our office will be your primary workplace (3 days/week) with flexibility to work from home 2 days/week.
Please note that this is initially an 18-month fixed-term contract.
Core Responsibilities
Your remit will span our Market Business Unit (67 FTE) and 5 Lego Brand Retail stores in Belgium and the Netherlands (120 FTE).You will play a significant role in supporting the Benelux site´s motivation & satisfaction by handling the of end-to-end employee lifecycle topics with the support of our Shared Service Center and external payroll provider. In this role you will:
- Support & execute on local reportings and processes
- Support in optimization of rewards and benefits
- Support the creation and update of employee handbooks
- External Vendor cooperation (insurances, governmental institutions, etc.)
- Admin and support for long-term leaves (family, sickness, absenteeism)
- Admin of invoices, and ad-hoc admin support for the department
- HR Administrative Support in our Benelux LBR stores
- Validation of employee contracts and addendums
- Be the first point of contact for payroll advisors (NL, BE)
- Maintaining GDPR to keep us compliant
- Proactively contribute to continuous improvement of processes making sure these are correctly implemented
- Any other tasks that support our priorities e.g., Workday

The LEGO Group`s People, Operations & Development (PO&D) organization includes 4 main areas: Talent, Reward & Insights, Diversity & Inclusion and Partnering & Operations. You will be embedded within a local team of 3 in Benelux as part of the wider P&O Operations Nordic & Western Europe team. Our purpose is to support the Nordic & Western Europe regions with HROperational activities and local benefits. We also act as competence center and support to our Business Service Operations (BSO) in Kladno, who handles transactional topics such as general Payroll and Masterdata.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree or similar
- Experience in Dutch or Belgian labour law is a requirement (any other labour law is beneficial)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position (international/matrix organization is ideal but not a must)
- Demonstrated communication with partners and stakeholders across all levels, in person or remotely
- Any experience with payroll is a plus but not a requirement
- An excellent eye for quality and detail
- Proficiency in English, Dutch is beneficial
- Excellent MS office skills
- Pro-active and communicative attitude
