Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a highly skilled Solution Design Team Lead who is passionate, entrepreneurial, and driving to join us in our Global Infrastructure and IT Services team, based in our UCB Global office in Braine L’alleud, Belgium.About The RoleAs a Solution Design Team Lead you will define and implement the team’s strategy , together with the technical teams. You are an expert in all network and security related topics and you understand the needs of UCB’s business stakeholders perfectly and can translate them into technology. You will also be in direct relation with the Infrastructure Leadership Team.Who You’ll Work WithYou will work with a team of architects, technical experts, operational teams, IT and business stakeholders on all applicable projects and ccontinuously aligning with Peers to ensure all IT Solutions are working together optimally. You will lead the Solution Design Team to achieve and establish a best in industry architectural practice, set priorities and define actions to deliver qualitative solutions and maximize value creation through technology.What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of the company’s network and security architecture. The role includes developing and implementing network and security solutions, designs, processes, procedures, and standards to ensure the company’s IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and optimized for performance and robustness.
• Advise on and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures to protect the company’s systems and data from cyber threats.
• Evaluate new technologies and products to ensure the company’s network and security infrastructure is scalable performant and in line with the business needs and company strategy.
• Continuously analyze network performance/security data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize network performance and security aspects of the company’s assets.
• Ensur architects can work autonomously with clear understanding of the rules, standards, and best practices at UCB.
• Ensur continuous compliance of all assets owned by the team.
• Run and manage the Infrastructure Solution Design Board (architecture board).
• Assist in projects by delivering the right design, in time and with appropriate quality.
• Continuously ensure that the design documents are correct and up to date.
• Be the go-to advisor for Stakeholders with regards to network and network security solution design.
• Continuously work on improving the network performance and security posture of UCB.
• Own the financial responsibility of the team’s activities and participate in managing the department’s budget optimally and rigorously.

Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

• Master’s degree in information science, computer science or equivalent education.
• Minimum 10 years as a technical architect and 5 years leading an architecture group/team community.
• Proven experience with cloud network and security architecture.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven experience designing and implementing zero-trust, macro and micro segmentation solutions, preferably in a pharma environment.
• 5 years’ experience managing an architect or senior level network and security engineer team.
• 2-5 years managing projects end-to-end, including budgets autonomously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Strong affinity with compliance and, in general, compliance driven environments.
• Collegial, respectful yet assertive and able to define and share a clear vision to establish a best-in-class architecture practice.
• Ability to efficiently work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of network and security standards, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, IDS/IPS,SIEM…
• Excellent understanding and proven experience with all Cisco, Palo Alto and VMWare products.
• Proven experience with IoT network technologies (Lorawan, Wifi, 4-5G).its a plus.
