The Central Procurement (CP) organization is comprised of several Category Managers and Procurement Operations.

The Procurement and Business Services team leads sourcing and procurement activities for Brussels Airlines, developing a best-in-class supply base and processes. It’s responsible for the indirect procurement categories General Goods & Services(140M p.a. spend) and IT(25M p.a. spend),covering Financial Services Construction, Facility Management, Security, IT Infrastructure, hardware and Applications, Energy, External Workforces: Operational Supplies & Services, Professional Services, General Goods & Services, Vehicles.

Furthermore, the role is responsible for Procurement Operations and the implementation and continuous improvement of purchasing processes and methods: Procurement Solutioning and Delivery.

It provides core procurement services to the organization: business partner screening, purchase order and contract management.

Procurement Solutioning and Delivery ‘s goal is to provide world class services for both Procurement Operations (Requisition-to-Procure), Strategic Sourcing (Source-to-Contract) and drive standardization and enablement of technology.

Key Result Areas
  • Strategic Procurement
    • In line with Brussels Airlines and LHG Procurement strategy and its operating plans, define a Brussels Airlines Procurement Strategy and its multi-year roadmap, including Sourcing, Procurement Operations and Excellence
    • Manage the indirect spend portfolio (165M p.a.) and the cooperation with LHG team to maximize synergies
    • Implement, extend, and manage a vendor governance framework in line with the company risk framework
    • Assume responsibilities for Brussels Airlines upstream supply chain to comply with the Supply Chain Duty of Care Act by establishing a risk management framework and organizing support services. Develops focus and team expertise on the upstream supply chain for our African operations
    • In line with Brussels Airlines sustainability strategy , define a Sustainable procurement strategy. Set to goal to measure sustainability activities across procurement and sustainability compliance of our suppliers
  • Procurement Solutioning and Delivery
    • Develop a mid-term vision and roadmap for Procurement Operations and Excellence
    • Lead and drive a digital agenda to further improve efficiencies within the department and the digitalization of Procure-to-Contract processes
    • Enable procurement /business transformation in line with the company vision and strategy
    • Implement strategies and wave plans to continuously grow spend and drive adoption of Procurement tools and processes (eg Supplier Business Partner Due Diligence, Buy:Contract, PO module, Supplier Onboarding Portal)
    • Build framework for supply chain finance products
  • People Management
    • Manage and lead disciplinary a team of up to 3 managerial roles directly and continues to strengthen their skills and competencies
    • Steer and guide indirect team members of intra-departments (eg inflight product, Lufthansa category managers, technical buyers) in operational purchasing process and policy execution
    • Provide clear leadership and direction around day-to-day management of the team’s work ensuring that individual team members are appropriately supported and is appropriately resourced to deliver timely, quality and value add purchasing services and advice
  • Support to and Deputize for the Head of Procurement when required
    • Active participation in, and commitment to, the implementation of change and organizational development initiatives and contribute to the development, leadership and governance of the Procurement department
    • Makes decisions regarding supplier selections, claims, contract approvals ,decisions affecting operational and financial results
    • Act as duly authorized representative as per Power of Attorney for transactions related to purchase of goods and services
Your Profile
  • Master degree preferably in business administration, finance (supply chain) or engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain /relevant Business
  • 3+ years of experience in an international / multi-country environment
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering projects on time in international and cross-entity settings
  • Supervisory experience
  • Good understanding of the operational and tactical procurement processes and maturity roadmap
  • Strong and demonstrated procurement experience for diverse type commodities, fully understanding of the P2P processes and all its intersections with others support areas
  • Experienced in third party (supplier) management
  • Lean Six Sigma Oriented and applied for administrative processes
  • Strong team player with experience with middle and top management, handling all stakeholders groups and creating networks even in difficult environments
  • Results-driven, strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Process driven with eye for simplification of processes and efficiency gains.
  • Ability to work independently, in team and closely with senior management team members and take decisions as and when required.
