Job Purpose and Impact

The Strategic Pricing Manager leads the development and deployment of pricing strategies, processes and projects across Cargill Sweeteners, Starches & Texturizers Europe. In this role you will drive pricing, margin, and portfolio optimization across multiple product lines, as well as building critical pricing capabilities such as value-based pricing, big deal pricing and negotiations, pricing science, analytics, and technology.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business environment – lead the development and execution of pricing strategies to maximize profitability by partnering with various stakeholders, like Product Line, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance.
  • Develop and deploy fact-based approach to business profitability by in-depth understanding of the margins at the category, application, and customer level for defined sales channels.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to maximize profitability and anticipate market changes, as well as improve approach to pricing in segmentation, market insights, specific customer requirements and added value services.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, support, and where required change management in the execution of the different pricing processes to ensure the business objectives as well specific customer and market targets are met.
  • Support negotiations; keep track of cost and price dynamics and drive teams to pro-active margin optimization.
  • Lead pricing optimization projects and deploy strategic pricing capabilities, aligning with the strategy, market dynamics and needs.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Balancing complex analytics to derive insights from large and complex sets of business data with pragmatism and taking people along.
  • Ability to take risk and reach a decision with less than perfect fact base in a fast-changing business environment.
  • Financial knowledge for profit and loss, margin and price decision making.
  • High level of initiative, curiosity, and potential to go beyond the described role as the team responsibilities evolve.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience.
  • Fluency of English is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of costing models in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding or work experience of risk-management concepts and tools
  • Working across core business functions, such as, marketing, product-line management, operations, finance, sales etc.
  • Strong direct & indirect influencing / leadership skills
