Huntsman have an exciting opportunity for a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Expert with a passion for driving sustainable manufacturing to join the Global Materials & Sustainability team based in Everberg, Belgium. The LCA expert will be crucial in guiding commercial and innovation decisions across Huntsman’s Polyurethane business globally as well as providing in depth sustainability analysis to customers. We are looking for an individual with deep expertise in Life Cycle Assessment methodologies who also has the desire and capability to represent Huntsman globally in this field.

As The Sustainability LCA Expert, You Will
  • Build in-house LCA capability and become the subject matter expert for the business in this field
  • Analyse complex datasets using a variety of continuously changing methodologies and tools
  • Systematically develop LCA models of products and manufacturing process units to provide a baseline for the organisation from which to make decisions and support portfolio management
  • Keep track of updates to LCA methodologies and requirements, benchmark against current best practices and attend conferences to build network in this field
  • Ensure timely responses to external customer requests related to sustainability performance
  • Provide guidance and training to others on analysing data for use in reports or product & application portfolio assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present data relating to sustainability
  • Support the Global Sustainability expert in identifying future trends and needs around capability requirements and product sustainability requirements

Skills & Experience Required
  • Science, Engineering or Technology degree with a previous practical LCA experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing processes, prior experience working in the chemical industry is desirable
  • Deep knowledge of LCA methodologies and requirements with experience of managing complex datasets and experience in Sustainable Product Portfolio Management is an asset
  • Experience using GaBi or an alternative LCA software
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Passionate about sustainability, independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results
  • Fluent English with other European languages an asset
  • Ability to travel when required for conferences, events, meetings or customer visits
