Job Purpose and Impact

The Sustainability Specialist will build relationships with some of the largest global food and beverage companies to execute on opportunities and demands to help them meet their sustainability goals, through the development of communication and sales activation tools, planned customer events and coordinate special projects as needed. In addition, this role, will partner with Cargill Starches, Sweeteners and Texturizers (CSST) global and regional sustainability professionals to develop and respond to customer questionnaires/data requests and support recording and reporting associated with the CSST environmental social governance (ESG) scorecard and strategy.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop recording and reporting systems to demonstrate progress against sustainability strategies.
  • Manage, secure and compile global data for the ESG scorecard.
  • Work across functions and businesses to assemble ESG required data.
  • Serve as the global coordinator of responses to customer questionnaires, product data and social and sustainability audits information eg SEDEX, CDP following ups with customers and Cargill Subject Matter Expects (SMEs) and Account Managers as required.
  • Lead the completion of customer specific or industry recognized surveys around sustainability efforts and act as the company resource for those portals and customer connectivity within them.
  • Assist in the preparation of content and format presentations for internal or external customer meetings, coordinate logistics for customer meetings, develop sales collateral materials in partnership with SMEs and create executive customer overviews.
  • Partner with enterprise teams and account managers to drive sustainability strategy and direction for customer accounts.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of ESG, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability topics associated with the agri-food/bio based industries across energy, carbon, water, inclusion and diversity, human rights and biodiversity
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Data management, analysis and quality assurance and quality control skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of related experience
