We are looking for a passionate Digital Team Manager that can lead our teams of Industrial operations digital (IOD). This role is based in Ghent and will be covering people working with IOD based in Ghent; both employees and consultants.

You will join Industrial Operations at Volvo Cars Digital and be part of the IOD management team. This area manages the IT deliveries towards Industrial operations . For this role you will be collaborating mostly with Product Managers, RTE’s and Product owners. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and scale our users globally. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it.

The purpose of the role

The team manager (TM) as a servant leader has the complete personnel responsibility in the teams, covering present and future needs. The TM coaches the team to continuously learn and collaborate

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Coach the teams in agile ways of working. If the teams, Scrum master and RTE are immature I need to be hands on. As the team, Scrum master and RTE matures I take a step back and act as a mentor.
  • Support IOD teams in their daily work by being present and attentive to their needs
  • Attend events when relevant or on request (e.g. demos, PI planning, retrospectives)
  • Participate in technical discussions to stay updated in relevant technology domains to be able to coach my teams.
  • Responsible for all PX employee related processes (e.g. salary setting, appraisals, goal setting)
  • Responsible for my employees’ work environment.
  • Ambassador of IOD within Digital community
  • Drive global alignment within IOD
  • Secure recruiting & team design, and I involve the teams, RTE, and PM in the process
  • Promote and challenge teams to continuously learn and share knowledge.
  • Handle competence development, and I build the ability in the teams and individuals to drive their own competence development.
  • Coach real-time data transparency e.g. visualization of KPIs, Quality metrics, Test coverage etc.
  • Support suppliers becoming a part of our agile development.
Who are you?
  • BSc, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (significant on the job training can be seen as equivalent)
  • Experience with Agile ways of working in a global context.
  • Experience with Leadership of a global team of people working in different locations.
  • Experience of IOD (Supply Chain and manufacturing)
  • Teaching and coaching skills.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops.
  • Ability to visualize information.
  • Capacity to create an environment that foster high performance teams.
