We are currently looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to support one of our clients on its infrastructure (bridges, civil, constructions,...) and building projects.

The Design Structural Engineer will be part of the Structural Engineering team which provides civil engineering advice on the full life cycle of projects, from feasibility studies, conceptual & detailed design, to the implementation phase and follow-up of the construction works.

The projects are diverse and include all types of constructions: buildings, transport infrastructure, industrial installations, nuclear objects, renewable energy, water infrastructure, and so on.

His Main Tasks And Duties Will Be
  • Leads, motivates, coaches and manages a small project team of monodisciplinary architectural engineers and draftsmen for your projects with a strong focus on building projects.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the budget, planning and quality of the works. You ensure that the projects assigned to you are carried out according to our quality system and our H&S rules.
  • Reports the progress of all your projects weekly to the head of the Structural Engineering department
  • Participate in the structural design of your projects
  • Reinforces an integrated design process by looking transversely at the different disciplines involved
  • Responds to the wishes and needs of the customer
  • Prepare and submit quotations and contracts
  • Aims for sustainable and efficient solutions
  • Keep track of standards, guidelines and developments in your field and report them to your team members or colleagues
  • Collaborates constructively with colleagues, external partners (such as architects, other design and engineering firms, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) and clients.
  • International mindset and cooperates with offices abroad for certain engineering tasks and takes the necessary actions to guarantee the required quality
  • As a project manager, you actively promote and set up BIM collaboration procedures if applicable
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Engineering, Architecture or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with construction projects in designing different types of concrete construction projects
  • Involved in all aspects and phases of the projects: design, studies, tendering, implementation, management, etc.
  • Expertise in modeling with SCIA Engineer or equivalent packages
  • A thorough knowledge of Dutch is essential and you have a good knowledge of English and French
  • Good communicative skills
  • Customer-oriented and flexible
  • Team player
  • Willing to travel internationally if necessary
