For our Finance Shared Service Center quarter located in Oudenaarde, Belgium we are currently looking for an experienced

Cost Accounting Manager

Are you an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Accounting Manager who enjoys working in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a driven professional to strengthen our financial team. You will lead a team of three accountants and oversee the cost accounting for our plant and European Distribution Center in Belgium. Based in the finance shared service center in Oudenaarde, you will collaborate with finance team members, plant managers, and departmental heads, and supervise the accounting team of a plant abroad. The Cost Accounting Manager reports directly to the VP Finance and CFO Europe.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate cost accounting information
  • Maintain, review and report an average cost and standard cost inventory system
  • Be responsible for inventory valuations based on FIFO rules and the lower of cost or market method
  • Maintain and review a cost+ IC transfer pricing system
  • Participate in the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close and perform variance analysis of fixed and variable operating budgets
  • Assist in and review plant operating budgets
  • Participate in statutory and group accounting audits and acting as a spokesperson to external and internal auditors for cost accounting matters
  • Maintain and improve internal control processes
  • Analyze complex manufacturing processes in coordination with plant directors to improve decision-making
  • Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses timely and accurately
  • Communicate financial information with plant directors, and senior and executive management

Applicants Should Ideally

  • 7 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing business
  • 2 years of management or supervisory experience
  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, forward-thinking, and numerical insight
  • High level of proficiency with computer software (SAP: PP/MM/PM/FI/SD and Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Proactive attitude and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
