As Marketing Data Steward you are responsible for the strategy and executionof initiatives related to data management, data quality and data governance of marketing data. You are the owner of the marketing database and your ultimate goal is to continuously improve the value of data.
This is a new position in which you will be the driving force behind the data driven marketing organisation.
Key responsibilities
You are the go-to person for all data management related questions. You have in depth knowledge of our CRM & Marketing Automation Platform and the related marketing databases. In this exciting new position, you combine organisation talent and technical data knowledge and get energy of understanding and building processes and working together with the different data stakeholders (IT, business analysts, marketeers). You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and do data cleansing activities, all the while trying to automate as much as possible. You work in close collaboration with the Marketing Data Analyst & MarTech team.
- You define and implement the strategic agenda for marketing data management:
- Data Quality: fix data errors & inconsistencies & setup manual/automated data cleansing
- Data Governance: define policies & procedures to ensure data consistency throughout the organisation
- Data Acquisition Strategy to ensure that desired levels of breadth and quality are achieved & help database growth for target markets & persona’s
- Data Measurement dashboard, including database readiness metrics and metrics that capture the impact of database readiness on downstream marketing processes
- Master Data Management: building a common set data definitions
- Data Privacy: you are to go to person for questions related to data privacy & GDPR
- Data Unification: develop the strategy for data unification across Barco for marketing
- You develop initiatives and maintain a roadmap for data improvements based on business needs, you know where the pain points are for the business & help to solve them; equally you know how to leverage data to drive more effective marketing
- You establish ongoing coordination with Web, sales operations, field marketing and IT teams to ensure visibility into changes to data and architecture
- You continuously improve the measurement plan for data management, including database readiness metrics and metrics that capture the impact of database readiness on downstream marketing processes
- You work with other teams (e.g. sales operations, IT, Marketing Technology team, Marketing Managers, Marketing Data analyst, Data Center of Excellence) to develop a broader data management strategy & framework
- You communicate data management status, progress and best practice sharing
Your profile
- You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Marketing or relevant area
- You have minimum 3 years experience in data management
- You have proven experience with driving data quality initiatives, joining data from disparate systems and
finding new ways to provide data consumers easy access to the information they need - You have strong analytical skills and a critical minset - able to build a roadmap and prioritize
- You have the ability
- to work with business owners and data consumers to identify data quality issues & needs
- to align stakeholders on tough decisions regarding common data definitions
- to provide a vision and act as an advocate for data management
- You have experience in current data cleansing, warehousing and unification strategies and tools
- You have extended experience working with CRM, Marketing Automation Platform, web systems and reporting tools
- Excel, Excel Query, SQL or other programming languages has no secrets
- You are comfortable working in a cross-functional and matrix organisation
- You are a creative problem solver with high level of attention in detail
- Your are customer-focused and process-oriented
