Nature and scope of the mission :

In order to strengten our H2 technical team (Renewable sector), John Cockerill is looking for an experienced polyvalent process engineer for its Hydrogen Refuelling Station activity.
The Process Engineer designs and implements new processes, with the aim of continuously optimising integrating new solutions. He/she is involved in the design of products, proposal and execution phases, right up to industrial start-up.

You will be part of the technical (a growing team of 25 people) in the hydrogen department.
The technical team is using a matrix approach as follow :
  • Horizontal axis : Technical referents and technology experts (Electrolyser, compression, storage, Hydrogen Refuelling Station) as well as technical project managers in charge of specific development projects. They are responsible for the coordination of ksupport functions (vertical axis) in communication with the whole H2 team
  • Vertical axis : Support functions and technical specialist (E&I, process, quality, calculations, drawing, électrochemistry …). The support functions work across the different R&D activities link to product improvement, and as well in pre-projects, projects and pilots.

The position is based in Seraing.

Main responsabilities

Key competencies of the process engineer should be the following:
  • Able to design process installations
  • Analyzes and assess existing energy processes (thermo-hydraulics, PFD, PID, plant data, asset interfaces, operation mode...).
  • Determine the different scenarios based on process parameters
  • Issue Process Flow Diagrams, PID, and layouts to illustrate the process.
  • Deliver input for technical specifications afterdesign optimization. This will serve as input for enquiries by Project Engineers
  • Conducts risk analysis and HAZOP.
  • Revise the parameters based on supplier feedbacks and internal detailed calculations.
  • Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Issue the functional description, explaining the plant operation and commissioning.
  • Participate in the redaction of commissioning procedure.
  • Participate in performance tests
Your Knowledge and Experience:
  • Between 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Engineering degree

Profile
  • You have an engineering master (civil or industrial);
  • You have minimum 5 years’ experience in process design and engineering in an industrial environment, if possible, in the energy market;
  • Experience is Hydrogen Refuelling Station or Hydrogen in general is a plus
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics is a must;
  • Knowledge of Hydrogen storage, compression and piping is an asset;
  • You have a strong and autonomous personality, an entrepreneurial mindset and a will to win;
  • You are able to prioritize and have an excellent sense of organization;
  • You are fluent in English, and French
  • You are proficient in MS office
