Intro department

The GRID department manages the gas transportation network of Fluxys Belgium, with the aim of ensuring the gas supply to end-users at all times and guaranteeing the safety of the installations, the environment, and the employees. Specifically, this includes the inspection, operation, and maintenance of the pipeline network and associated installations, as well as the coordination of all works carried out by third parties in the vicinity of our installations. Organizational-wise, the GRID department is divided into 5 regional zones spread across Belgium, reinforced by two central services (Asset & Maintenance Team and Third Party Works Team) that determine the maintenance program and work methods. They monitor and improve the reliability and availability of our installations through technical analyses and innovative solutions.

Job purpose

You contribute to enhancing the operational expertise of Fluxys by contributing to the future evolution of our installations and maintenance methods. You guide Fluxys in its digitization objectives and actively participate in the energy and climate transition.

Your job

• You are part of a team that supports regional zones in the management and maintenance of the gas network, and you report to the Process & Safety Engineer
• You are the main point of contact for all questions regarding the process control and characteristics of our installations, such as pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and consumption
• You participate in cross-functional standardization groups to improve existing and new installations
• You are the contact person for monitoring and reporting of all emissions, actively participating in initiatives to minimize emissions through design improvements, repair campaigns, and the use of compression and mobile flares
• You contribute to making our installations efficient and environmentally friendly by ensuring optimal operation and strengthening the knowledge of the teams
• In collaboration with regional zones, you analyze incidents, determine necessary actions, and monitor the timely and correct execution of action plans
• You analyze and define work methods, creating corresponding work instructions to ensure correct application
• You contribute to intelligent network systems (IoT and Maintenance 4.0) to connect systems, exchange data, store and visualize information, and develop innovative solutions for optimal monitoring, maintenance, and operation of our installations
• In line with Fluxys’ goal to transport H2 and CO2 molecules in our infrastructure, you work on the future strategy to prevent and manage leaks of H2 and CO2

About you

• You have a bachelor’s degree in electromechanics or equivalent through experience
• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role in the industrial sector
• You have a passion for energy transition and new technologies (Maintenance 4.0, IoT, data analysis, etc.)
• You have a critical mind to analyse large amounts of data
• You possess a good dose of intellectual curiosity
• You are strongly committed to problem-solving and can work on it independently
• You enjoy working in a team and apply excellent communication skills
• You have strong knowledge of both Dutch and French. You also have practical knowledge of English.

This position also requires the following:

• A driving license B and the willingness to regularly travel throughout Belgium
