Job Description

The Local Procurement & Pricing Specialist is responsible for the procurement and pricing of ocean and/or intermodal rates and defines the BDP Transport products in the respective country.

Responsabilities:

v Ocean and intermodal procurement in the country

v Arrange filing of procured contract rates in rate repository system

v Set margins for new business in concert with management and regional team

v Tender Procurement & Pricing

v Calculation & production of transport quotations in concert with sales

v Analysis & optimization of existing transport business (solutions & margins)

v Working on client specific transport solutions in concert with sales and regional team

v Troubleshooting, needcase escalate issues to regional/management level

v Maintain strong relationship with local ocean carrier contacts

v Customer visits in concert with sales

v Safeguard core carrier utilization in concert with Regional Procurement

v Safeguard data integrity in booking system

v Work on RFQs in pricing system , enter RFQs on behalf of sales if needed

v Monitoring of quote success

v Reporting of country specific data to the Regional Director

v Local carrier management with regards to general cooperation and payment conditions

v Focal point for Operations and Sales to BDP Transport

Job Requirements

❖ Must have a High School degree or equivalent

❖ A minimum experience of 3 years of carrier or freight forwarding industry is required (preferably procurement experience)

❖ Knowledge in MS Excel

❖ Combined excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to analyse situations and to make good decisions based on available information.

❖ Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures .

❖ Must have a charismatic and confident personality as well as an exceptional work ethic.

❖ Good Telephone and Email etiquette

❖ Good command of the local and English language
