You are passionate to work with people and have experience from providing in-depth knowledge regarding accounting and reporting. You are able to ensure high – quality accounting and reporting activities in compliance. Paying attention to the details is something that you really like. On a daily basis you work with numbers. You are able to be a proactive partner who supports relevant stakeholders in reaching their objectives. You can work in a constantly changing environment and have a strong commitment to delivering according to promise.
You have:

  • Advanced knowledge of tools for accounting and reporting in SAP modules and system capabilities, functionalities and set up
  • Good understanding of measuring, processing and communicating financial information in compliance with internal and external regulations and ensuring value for money in reaching business objectives and profitable growth
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting rules, standards and manuals along with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Good understanding of applying organizational policies and procedures to assess, mitigate, ensure appropriate internal controls and communicate risks to the organization
  • Good understanding of data science, analytics, data visualization tools and new technologies to secure a predictive and value-adding finance and accounting function
  • Good understanding of procedures and tools for data management
  • Good understanding of tax accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting as well as knowledge of how to provide support in an auditing process

For this role we believe you have:

  • Formal education in Accounting;
  • Basic knowledge of Belgian accounting principles;
  • Basic understanding of company Belgian legal (GAAP, Tax, statistical) obligations, governance and compliance and a prior experience in accounts payable/receivable
  • Previous experience in the general ledger, credit control, and accounting & reporting
  • Excellent communications skills with strong telephone communication confidence
  • Natural ability to prioritize your workload and multi-task
  • Excellent problem-solving skills within an A&R Finance function
  • Ability to communicate in 3 languages (Dutch, French and English).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

Reviewing issues in accounting and reporting operations and communicating to the stakeholders
  • Preparing various types of reconciliations and securing internal controls
  • Ensuring that all data is processed on time
  • Being a part of the global and local projects
  • Supporting local execution to simplify, harmonize and automate financial operations and reporting
  • Carrying out internal and external audit related work, yearly fillings and other compliance activities
  • Maintaining and securing the right level of quality of accounting and reporting as a base for business steering and compliance
  • Advising the team and Global Business Operations (GBO) on specific accounting and reporting questions with extra focus on local General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Contributing to a safe environment for co-workers and external consultants and contractors in accordance with INGKA policies
