Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales Belgium, the Business Development Manager is responsible for building relationships and generating business with new target accounts across Belgium for the entire Straumann Implant and digital portfolio.

Areas of responsibilities are: Wallonia, Brussels and Luxembourg.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Generating New Business – identifying and building a pipeline of new business opportunities by building relationships with key decision makers at new target accounts. Translating customer needs, business issues and aspirations into opportunities, quotes and closing sales to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Collaboration – works closely with the Straumann Group Area Sales Managers, territory managers and Clinical Advisors to drive the next steps in the sales or onboarding process, with a solid handover to ensure continuity of customer experience.
  • Sales Execution – responsible for the execution of the overall sales strategy. Building a network and a pipeline of new opportunities with effective use of marketing campaigns, organised events, KOLs, market research, CRM data and cold calling.
  • Planning & Reporting – Develops and executes quarterly plan; submits accurate, timely and complete reports, and forecasts of the execution of the Sales Plan towards management. Use all Straumann reporting and CRM tools to drive and monitor Sales execution).
  • Sales Excellence – continuously supports the improvement of the high performance sales process, in which the goal of Straumann is to achieve optimal customer intimacy, to stay ahead of the competition and thus to achieve healthy sales growth within a changing market environment
  • Leading customer negotiation, pricing and contract management together with Head of Sales and Area Sales Managers
  • Execute and monitor all Sales activities in line with compliance regulations

Requirements Needed

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in life sciences or commercial degree
  • Language skills: French (Native), Dutch (nice to have), English (professional)

Experience & Capabilities

  • Self-starter, highly driven
  • Experienced hunter of commercial opportunities with the ability to articulate and action lead generation right through the sales cycle to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience with consultative selling style. Excellent listening and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with utilising data to enable a solid business case to be presented to new and existing commercial opportunities
  • Ability to understand and work within a complex sales process with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with building a Pipeline, and being able to research prospects, connect, educate and offer solutions to qualify a prospect.
  • Strong commercial business acumen and attention to detail.
