Kantar Marketplace:
Kantar Marketplace is an automated market research platform designed for insights professionals, marketers and agencies who want to test, learn and move faster. With its powerful combination of proven solutions and game-changing tech, the platform offers clients speed without compromise, delivering decision-quality insights in as little as a few hours. The platform allows clients to set up their own research projects, either on a completely self-service basis, or with differing levels of service from our expert consultants.
Growth:
Over the past 18 months we have scaled Kantar Marketplace to be available in 70 countries and have attracted new users in multinational organisations like Amazon, Audi, Coca Cola, Diageo, Samsung, Vodafone, and Reckitt. More than 750 client organisations now take advantage of Kantar Marketplace, testing almost 1,500 creative and innovation assets a month. In 2021 Kantar Marketplace achieved 120% year-on-year revenue growth, with cumulative revenues since launch surpassing $100 million.

The Business Development function is influential in fundamentally enabling Kantar in its increase in Commercial behaviour across the whole of Kantar.
THE ROLE:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the client penetration and revenue of Kantar Marketplace in close collaboration with Business Development and Client teams throughout Kantar.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Significantly grow Kantar Marketplace business year on year, by achieving annual sales goals and targets;
- Fully dedicated to driving sales for Kantar Marketplace platform, across all solutions available leading with the Kantar Marketplace vision and narrative through articulating compelling value propositions;
- Collaborative seller, working closely with Kantar Marketplace Lead, Solution Area Leads, Client Leads and the broader business areas across Kantar to drive sales of Kantar Marketplace;
- Create and execute against a sales action plan targeting clients that would benefit from Kantar Marketplace’s unique platform – from your list of clients/prospects;
- Track all sales activity - Be accountable for tracking and managing, through relevant tools (internal finance tools etc.) for the business development process, from prospecting to qualification to closing;
- Open doors - Actively scope out new business opportunities with new logos and new client buying points with existing accounts through your established network, analysis of data, and existing knowledge of the market research landscape as well as utilise CRM tools;
- Respond with great speed and thoughtfulness to inbound leads as well as maximize your list potential;
- Lead client conversations and platform demonstrations on the transformative potential of Kantar Marketplace Platform focusing on unique selling propositions with a keen eye toward competitors;
- Work within a matrix structure to harness the capabilities of the team including Account Leads and Solution Experts to win;
- Handle in-depth knowledge of products and technologies, competitors, and market conditions as well as pull in the relevant Kantar expert to close the sale.
Key Outcomes
- Achievement of annual sales and profitability targets as well as optimise your sales conversions;
- Drive up-selling & cross-solution selling within your existing client base as well as unlock new business with new buying points within existing clients;
- Strong pipeline of activity with prospects for new and established clients for driving year over year growth – achieving outreach, demo, and sales targets;
- Active participant in Sales Pushes, both local and global levering existing solutions as well as maximising new solution/platform feature launches.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Strong track record of exceeding annual sales goals, targets and overall KPIs
- 3+ years of Market Research experience (agency or client side), ideally with experience of innovation and creative development
- Proven ability to identify, build and secure strategic and profitable business relationships
- Good listener & flexible narrator who systematically adapts its communication content and style to it audience
- Adaptable and open to new content and unforeseen circumstances and comfortable with a consultative sales process
- Possess a commercial mind set / business orientation along with gravitas, and relationship-building skills needed to build rapport and influence senior internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills
- Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively within a matrix structure to harness capabilities of the team and craft a winning proposal/solution
- Proficiency selling technology, market research solutions or marketing technology across various client verticals and within one or more of our solution areas of expertise
- Ability to identify the right customer stakeholders and build rapport/establishes credibility to build consensus for deals
- Strategic thinker who systematically solves problems and hypothesizes possible customer pain points, expectations and implicit needs; brainstorms with team members to devise solutions to solve complex deal challenges
