The Confirmed ESG Analyst is expert on at least one sector, one theme, and on Moody’s ESG (MESG) Rating Framework. Moody’s ESG Solutions Group (MESGS) is a business unit of Moody’s Corporation. The Confirmed ESG Analyst produces, controls and plans research linked to their sectors and themes of expertise, while contributing to the visibility of this expertise for internal and external clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monitoring of ESG events, trends and challenges
  • Entertain and develop teams’ ESG knowledge on associated performances, controversies, emerging trends and challenges
  • Answer to internal and external requests (questions, answer to bid tender, presentations of derivate products, projects, etc)
  • Plan and control research with the aim to deliver it in due time and in line with MESG quality standards
  • Plan and control the production of research pieces and present them to internal and external clients
  • Conduct quality controls on research conducted within the division and ensure the respect of quality standards relating to MESG rating process
  • Produce research according to MESG processes and quality standards
  • Train and tutor new collaborators (rating framework and process, quality controls, sector leads, presenting the rating framework, etc)
  • Support the continuous improvement of our tools, processes and methodology for maintaining our quality standards and improving the efficiency of our activities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and/or experience in related discipline (Sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sustainable Finance)
  • Strong interest and good understanding of the ESG regulatory landscape (evolving legislations, normative watch, lobbying framework). A work experience in any of the following topics or industries is desirable:
    • Topics: Environment, biodiversity & nature-related risks, circular economy, industrial processes AND/OR financial compliance, CDD, KYC, AML, business ethics, financial & ESG risk management
    • Industries: Chemicals, agroforestry, mining, basic raw materials AND/OR corporate & institutional banking, insurance, investment & asset management, development banks, fintech
  • 2-3 years of work experiencein a related field (for ex. Corporate Sustainability departments; Sustainability advisory services; Financial industry as financial or ESG analyst; ESG audit or certification industries):
  • Excellent English Language skills (working language). Knowledge of other languages is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to work autonomously, under the supervision and support of a team
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Demonstrate time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate communication and writing skills – ability to synthesise and report information in a clear and accurate way, respecting quality expectations.
The ESG Analytics team delivers analytical and production capacity in a centralized manner to meet the needs of all MESG’s business lines. In addition to conducting analytical work, team members serve as Subject Matter Experts regarding ESG data, analytics and opinion.
