We redefine what an earplug should sound, look and feel like. Whether it’s hearing protection or comfort for your ears, Loop enables you to live life at your volume. Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ’best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ’life changer’.

About the role:

In the evolving landscape of our data-driven organization, we stand at a transformative juncture, seeking a Data Engineer who will be pivotal in scaling and enhancing our data infrastructure. This role is not just about managing data; it’s about architecting the future of our information flow. You will leverage tools like Snowflake and DBT to elevate our data processing - from extracting multifaceted data from diverse platforms to delivering sophisticated and ready-to-use data models and tables, ensuring that our business users have seamless access to accurate and actionable insights.

Your contribution will be key in navigating the challenges of scaling our infrastructure. The mission involves broadening our data extraction capabilities, connecting to a richer variety of sources, and embedding more stringent security and quality checks. You will play a critical role in refining our data models and tables to better serve business needs and guiding the transition to advanced tools that promise scalability and sustainability. As a Data Engineer with us, you are not just a participant in our growth; you are a catalyst, driving forward our capability to harness data in ways that profoundly impact our strategic direction and operational excellence.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for designing, writing and maintaining data integrations and ingestions.
  • Develop a scalable data integration and processing solution and work towards a modern data architecture.
  • Understand Snowflake concepts like setting up Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager and Data Sharing,... and how to use these features.

How you’ll do it:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Snowflake, DBT and other ELT tools / processes
  • Strong understanding of all data management concepts like Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Warehousing, Data Lake
  • Experience in using various data storage formats like: JSON, Avro, Parquet and ORC.
