Job Description

For the development, construction and operation of offshore wind farms, we are looking for a

Foundation Package Design Engineer to reinforce the Foundations team.

YOUR ROLE

  • Lead conceptual and basic designs of the overall wind farm (bottom fix and

floating) jointly with other wind farm disciplines. Knowledge of leading design codes or

guidelines (DNV, IEC, ISO,…) is mandatory.

  • Assemble and scrutinize all design input data and boundary conditions, in

collaboration with the other disciples. Interface with other project packages and

departments

  • Define scope and Employer Requirements for contracts with external design

houses.

  • Run the selection process for design consultants and follow up and challenge

on their work.

  • Review and scrutinize the 3rd party design, making sure this is done according

to the state of the art.

  • Lead a team of engineer to perform various checks and parallel calculations of

the design.

  • Follow up fabrication and installation of the foundations linking back to the

design by responding to technical queries and follow-up on non-conformities.

  • Keep track of and implementation lessons learned.
  • Propose and assess and keep track of novel technologies and concepts.
  • Internally report on progress, risks, budget related to the design progress.
  • Help develop internal engineering tools and routines.
  • Regularly travel for (offshore) site visits and meetings

Profile / Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering. (Structural, Civil, Offshore, or Naval architecture)
  • 5-year+ experience in the field of offshore wind (bottom fixed/floating) with affinity for

marine and structural design.

  • Ability to work independently and strong problem-solving attitude
  • Pro-active mentality, keeping track of and pushing the state-of-the-art
  • You are driven, pragmatic and solution-oriented
  • You are a team player and have the necessary communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales
  • You are fluent in English.
  • Software knowledge in MS Office, matlab, python
  • Knowledge of design software such as Qbladed is a plus
