Overview:
KEMIN FOOD TECHNOLOGIES – EMEA is seeking a: Food Technologist
As a Food Technologist you will be responsible for projects, in close collaboration with the World Food Program of the United Nations, focused on improving the shelf life and quality of emergency foods used to combat hunger in areas of need across the globe. You will offer support on establishment and maintaining of the food safety and quality management system.

Responsibilities:
Your duties can be divided into two groups:
  • You will lead, coordinate, and execute projects that are initiated together with World Food Program:
    • Maintain close communication with the World Food Program headquarters to assure projects are actual and relevant
    • Assist World Food Program with general food quality questions and auditing of quality assurance of producers of emergency foods
    • Set up the design of experiments to evaluate and improve shelf life of emergency foods ensuring scientific rigor
    • Execute in an accurate manner the designed experiments to meet agreed deadlines
    • Contribute to providing technical advice and recommendations based on the outcome of the experiments
    • Perform literature studies to extend knowledge in the field of antioxidants and antimicrobials for food, packaging technology and process improvement
  • You will support the development, maintaining documentation and improvement of the overall Food Safety and Quality Management System
    • Conduct internal audits and assist with customer audits
    • Conduct non-conformity and customer complaint investigation and resolution
    • Document and follow up of corrective and preventive actions
    • Assist in responding to quality related questions and questionnaires from customers
    • Assist in the supplier/raw materials approval, process, and product improvements
    • Coordinating internal and external analysis requests compliant with quality plans on raw materials including those by external labs.
    • Conduct and/or coordinate sample analysis to support supplier qualification, process/ product improvement.
    • Providing support for new product development including raw material risk assessment and finished product shelf-life studies etc.
    • Coordinating internal and/or external sample request and analysis
    • Providing support on analysis of finished products and rework
    • Assist on finished goods release and preparing COA.
Qualifications:
Are you driven by science? Do you like to improve food safety and quality? Are you an administrative expert? Do you recognize yourself in the points below? Then maybe you are the Food Technologist we are searching for!
  • Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Food Science/Food Chemistry with 3-5 years of laboratory working experience
  • Experience in independently evaluating and interpreting results.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills and the demonstrated ability to make timely and logical decisions that meet the needs of the business is critical.
  • Familiar with quality and food safety systems
  • Ability to demonstrate creative ability in solving technical issues.
  • Very hands-on, proactive, and not afraid to take initiatives.
  • Good and open communicator, open for giving presentations or communicating with customers
  • Advanced PC knowledge, MS Office, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Willing to travel
