Job Summary

The Site Maintenance Manager (MM) is a pivotal role at the heart of the OLN site – The Home of Ben. This role plays a key part in securing product delivery to our customers in markets around the world by ensuring the performance of our people and assets supports our growth ambition

Leading the Maintenance department for the site (Reliability and Maintenance), the MM with provide a clear vision and leadership to deliver a first class service to the operations teams. He/she will also own and drive the site TP: Preventive maintenance (PM) pillar to support the performance ambition of the site and the Global Food PM community, in collaboration with the regional and global team and other sites in the supply network.

  • Direct reports – 10-15 (Shift technicians, reliability improvement engineer, store keeping, planning and maintenance engineers)
  • Maintenance budget approx. 2m Euro
  • Site fixed assets value approx. 85 m Euro

In this role you will report to Plant Director of Olen and will be part of the operational leadership team and in the Site leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven leadership skills; able to engage teams and individuals in a changing environment using empowering leadership style;
  • Inspires and actively drives engagement in the team and contribute to the engagement of OLN associates;
  • Defines Vision and Strategy for the Technical department, communicating this formally and informally and uses MSE/TPM as main vehicle to deliver.
  • Member of the Site Leadership Team, helps to develop and execute the OLN site strategy;
  • Plays an active part in the global PM agenda, driving the Community of Delivery agenda with peer Technical managers of other sites
  • Partners with Site TPM Lead and Production Manager to ensure implementation and development of MSE/TPM on site
  • Drives excellence in maintenance execution: maximizes asset reliability at the best cost
  • Ensures efficient, cost effective and fit for purpose preventive maintenance to guarantee high asset safety, reliability and life cycle and to maximize TRS/OEE and outputs
  • Delivers projects benefits/scope, on time and within budget as agreed up front with internal customer(s) and in pro-active compliance with safety, Food safety, quality and all Mars standards
  • Owns and delivers the Site PM Pillar, including Safety, Digital & Automation roadmap
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and able to lead / facilitate complex multifunctional problem solving to unlock and reliable improve the situation.
  • Lead improvement projects within the technical department working with a cross functional team.
  • Manages and develops technical resources for the site including line management excellence to the technical team and develop internally technical competences (mechanical, electrical & controls, ways of working).
  • Manages and develops the supplier base and supplier base to support the factory.

Key Skills Required

  • Bachelor / Master degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in a production environment – maintenance experience is essential; engineering project management an advantage
  • At least 5 years of People leader experience, proven capability as driven and results orientated team leader;
  • Experienced in P&L Budget management
  • Understanding of MSE / TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) – experience applying MSE / TPM preferred
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders throughout the organization (local & central); and to confidently and collaboratively challenge the status quo
  • Able to engage both teams and individuals to face challenging and changing situations.

Candidates should communicate proficiently in both Dutch and English.
