Policy Advisor, Distribution

Eurogas works to accelerate the transition towards the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals and a Just Transition, by advocating for the optimal use of gases. We believe that with appropriate framework in place, EU gas demand can be fully decarbonised before 2050. Our members are active throughout the entire gas value chain, covering production, trading, distribution, and supply of natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen.

We are looking for a Policy Advisor to reinforce our team and to cover distribution-specific topics. This position includes navigating a core EU portfolio, energy policy. We will ask you to work with our members and team and actively help to shape our positions.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Being the go-to person for all matters relevant for Distribution System Operators, covering natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen activities
  • Collaborating closely and extensively with Eurogas members, external stakeholders, partner organizations and the Eurogas team
  • Being the voice of Eurogas at meetings with policy makers, events, and stakeholder coalitions
  • Drafting position papers, recommendations on EU legislative proposals and briefings for internal and external distribution
  • Keeping on top of, monitoring, tracking, and analysing EU policy developments

What we are looking for

  • Experience in the energy sector and an understanding about the role of Distribution System Operators in the energy system is a strong advantage
  • You’re independent, a self-starter and a good team player
  • You have good project management skills, can manage meetings and respect deadlines
  • You’re ready to jump on a wide range of tasks and take the lead on specific projects
  • You have an excellent command of English (oral and written)
  • You’re eligible to work in Belgium
