Abbott is recruiting a Procurement Manager to be based in our EMEA office in Zaventem, Belgium.

The Procurement Manager is responsible for the purchasing, continuity of supply, supplier relationship management and stakeholder alignment activities within the Global Procurement Technical Services category focused on the EMEA region.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Influence business unit strategy and translate business strategy into category strategy.
  • Partner with the business to ensure continuity of supply.
  • In-region escalation point for supplier negotiations, including fulfillment and price challenges.
  • Apply global category strategies at a region level, with cultural nuances taken into consideration.
  • Develop supplier management strategies for local suppliers within region.
  • Closely collaborate across procurement, the business and with external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels.
  • Partner and collaborate with Procurement staff to support cross divisional business initiatives, and drive Procurement synergies and efficiencies.
  • Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
Your Profile
  • Successful, 5+ year track record within related disciplines (procurement, supply chain, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to negotiate and manage suppliers
  • International experience
  • Strong ability to develop and execute against actionable implementation plans
  • Knowledge of category technologies and products
  • Ability to lead project teams
  • Strong organizational skills, including project governance
