To reinforce our R&D team we are looking for a Product Developer.

Product Developer Design to Value

Job Purpose

  • Lowering the cost of the products by changes to the bill of material while keeping product performance unchanged.
  • Support procurement in their strategies by authorizing raw materials for production.
  • Creates raw material specifications.
  • Be the expert and knowledge center for raw materials used in the region.

Main responsibilities and key tasks

  • Main focus on Feminine Care Pads & Liners product category including primary packaging.
  • Coordinates and delivers in time specific Design to Value projects following smartly the FTR / MDR approach by coordinating the feasibility activities within the project in a cross-functional approach, ensuring a very limited risk to any third party infringement.
  • Supports Feminine Care Pads & Liners team innovation projects.
  • Supports Design to Value colleagues in cross-category projects.
  • Be frequently in contact with industrialization team, suppliers, legal team, engineering, purchase, sales, marketing and plants.
  • Creates the needed documentation to ensure a good handover to industrialization team.
  • Delivers raw mat specification in a standardized way for all newly validated materials.
  • Defines / opex capex need to realize the specific Design to Value project in collaboration with Engineering / operations / others.
  • Maintains the necessary tools and systems to be compliant with regulations.
  • Contributes to a yearly Design to Value plan, by bringing ideas or running feasibility exercises.
  • Follows up on Design to Value saving plan forecasts and reported savings of own projects.
  • Reports status and roadblocks on monthly base or presents a deep dive for specific occasions.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor, Master or university diploma degree in natural science, or engineering.
  • Broad scientific and technical scope. Knowledge in statistics. Additional knowledge of Six Sigma would be an asset.
  • Excellent English (oral + written) is mandatory.
  • A first work experience in R&D or project based environment is an asset
  • Preferably an experience in a multi-cultural, international environment.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-dependent and scientific way of working.
  • Solid decision-making ability.
  • Results oriented.
  • Strong communication skills. Good presentation skills.
  • Strong team-working skills, openness to cooperate within the entire organization.
  • Travel to different locations, internal and external (supplier, customers, institutes,..) may be required up to 15%.
