Join Cargill’s global team of 155,000 employees who use new technologies, dynamic insights and over 154 years of experience to connect farmers with markets, customers with ingredients, and people and animals with the food they need to thrive.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Bioanalytical Scientist conducts chemical, physical and biological analyses using a wide variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to isolate, identify and quantify components of biological and other samples to support research and development activities for manufacturing sites. In this role, you will apply innovative technology to help drive the development of new products and improved processes for the food, feed and industrial segments.Key Accountabilities
  • Identify and provide resolution in analytical instrumentation maintenance.
  • Execute sample loading, processing and chromatographic problem resolution and effectively communicate results to diverse scientific teams.
  • Stay current with business trends and conducts root cause analysis of business problems to draw conclusions about business operations and suggest changes or improvements.
  • Prepare analytical samples, standards and properly disposes of waste in accordance with guidelines in a high safety focused environment.
  • Use a variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to isolate, identify and quantify components of biological matrices and other samples.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic technical knowledge in analytical chemistry and sterile techniques
  • Experience working in a commercial plant or piloting facility
  • Background in chemistry
