Position Summary

Provide high-class customer support and quotations that result in profitable revenue to the Company.

Support and execute the Commercial Strategy through efficient and timely responses to internal and external customers as well as stakeholders.

Essential tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for customers/ distributors within a certain region/ country
  • Active participation in updating/ improving existing processes, and initiate new processes to improve the customers’ experience
  • Screen and handle incoming inquiries of direct customers, distributors, and intercompany organizations of 3 brands we are dealing with: Thermo Scientific, Alfa Aesar and Acros Organics
  • Effectively communicate with customers, sales managers, sales representatives, internal departments as well as suppliers
  • Compute cost and pricing for materials using a variety of criteria, such as inventory availability, competitive position, price validity and logistical considerations (freight, repack, handling cost, etc.)
  • If no recent cost/ price information is available in the system, manufacturers must be contacted to obtain best cost information. If needed this will be done with the support of the procurement team
  • Prioritize and follow-up requests based on commercial experience: key customer, repeat and/ or high value business, competitive position, etc.
  • Order handling. Enter the orders received from customers into the ERP system, send an order confirmation. Follow-up with internal departments and/ or suppliers, to ensure an on time and in full delivery
  • Dealing with return shipments/ credit notes and financial follow-up
  • Complaint handling. Enter complaints in the database and follow-up with the related departments
  • Assist/ back up colleagues within the FCP SCS Bulk team globally

Minimum requirements/qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Chemistry …)
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch, English and French is required, knowledge of German is an asset
  • Problem-solving, positive, collaborative, involvement, pro-active, feeling responsible attitude
  • Customer oriented attitude is a must. Skills of effective communication with internal and external customers through multiple means such as email, telephone and in-person discussions
  • Time management and organizational skills. Ability to multitask to meet deadlines
  • Mathematical skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately and quickly
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Good knowledge of the product range is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP platforms, SalesForce and other CRM systems
  • Sourcing experience is an asset
