Through the combined acquisitions of CellPoint and AboundBio, we are propellingourselves into next-generation cell therapies. CellPoint brings a novel, decentralized point-of-carecell therapy manufacturing model, which has the potential to offer efficient, seven-day time totreatment and avoids complex logistics, resulting in potential better patient outcomes and broaderaccess. AboundBio’s cutting-edge fully human antibody-based platform provides access to aresearch engine for next generation multi-targeting CAR-Ts that have the potential to deliver deeperand durable clinical responses and that will be developed using CellPoint’s decentralized model.We are looking for a (Senior) Director, Business Development - Search & Evaluation (Oncology).The location of this role is flexible and can be based in any of our European locations. You will report to the Vice President, External Innovation Leader Oncology.Scope of the jobYou search, evaluate, and assess business development opportunities to enrich the oncology pipelineof Galapagos. Together with our business development team, our alliance – and transactionmanagers, you drive the growth of Galapagos.Your roleYou identify business opportunities based on your deep scientific knowledge of Oncology, CellTherapy in particular, and your strategic relationship building capacities. You generate win-winsituations based on your inspiring and trustworthy personality combined with your business acumen.You are patient, confident and persistent to continuously build and maintain a pipeline with lowindividual success rates, but high potential return. You convert ideas and believes into actions andconcrete results together with all internal and external stakeholders. Your business acumen andscientific background allow you to integrate with the nature of Galapagos, its scientific strength andfocus, its resources, its culture, and its potential. You are driven to play an important role in thesustainable growth of Galapagos as a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company.Who are you?

• An advanced degree in life sciences is required (MD, PharmD or Ph.D or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience within Pharma and/or Biotech and preferably a

minimum of 3 years of relevant business development experience

• Solid experience within Oncology therapeutic area is essential, preferably ImmunoOncology/Hematology/Cell Therapy
• A well-established commercial/academic network is strongly preferred
• Natural & strategic relationship builder
• Expert analytical skills and ability to effectively understand and act on complex

information under high time pressure situations

• Proactive, self-driven, and well structured, able to work in a rapidly shifting, fast-paced

environment

• Excellent command of English
