Whereas the main Barco divisions focus on the current product roadmaps, Barco Labs is conducting research into radically new technologies that could lead to completely new Barco products in the future. One of Barco Labs’ proof-of-concepts shows interesting market potential and we are currently scaling up the team to transform our exciting proof-of-concept into a real product.

Keywords of this innovative technology include machine learning, video analysis and automatic camera control.

We are looking for a senior full-stack software developer that can be the technical driving force in this transformation from proof-of-concept software code to product software code.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You take the lead in the overall design and refinement of the software to create stable product code. You refine the software architecture, the interfacing, the testing and continuous deployment environment, security… You break down this vision into manageable technical steps.
  • You are a hands-on software developer and implement a lot of the changes and features yourself, in line with the vision,
  • You understand the proof-of-concept algorithms (e.g., computer vision, machine learning, calibration), turn them into mature code, and maintain or update them if needed.
  • You perform system setup and testing, report and resolve bugs,
  • You analyze performance bottlenecks and suggest opportunities for improvement,

Your Profile
  • You have at least 6 years of experience in software product development in various environments and roles,
  • You have outstanding knowledge of software and application design and architecture,
  • You are an experienced programmer with a broad background in computer science (e.g., programming languages, web technologies, computer networks, databases…)
  • You have particular experience using Linux and programming in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with real-time video streaming and computer vision is a plus (e.g., GStreamer, OpenCV…)
  • You have good analytic skills and pay great attention to detail,
  • You know what product software should look like,
  • You are a team player and communicate your ideas clearly,
  • You are flexible and like working in a start-up-like environment,
  • Experience in video processing, computer vision, and machine learning is a plus.
