Software Designer – Mobile Applications (Energy / Utilities Industry)

Location: Gosselies (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite)

Start date: 01 January 2026

Duration: 1-year mission (renewable)

Workload: Full-time (5 days/week)

About The Role

A leading organisation in the Energy & Utilities sector is looking for an experienced Software Designer to reinforce its Mobile Factory team. You will drive the technical design, coherence, and quality of mobile applications while supporting developers and ensuring best development practices.

This is a hybrid assignment, with a minimum of two days onsite in Gosselies. A driving licence is recommended due to limited public transport access.

Mission Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Design

  • Define software design across all mobile solutions
  • Contribute to solution definitions, technical estimates, and project scoping
  • Produce and maintain technical design documents (SAD)
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and maintainability of the codebase

Development & Maintenance

  • Implement mobile applications using Blazor, Angular, .NET, and MAUI
  • Conduct code reviews and support developers
  • Maintain existing mobile applications and resolve identified bugs
  • Perform unit testing and ensure compliance with security, performance, and quality standards
  • Document applications and contribute to ongoing improvements

Team Support & Coaching

  • Provide guidance and coaching to other developers
  • Promote Agile best practices (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Facilitate internal alignment and ensure good communication within the development team

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Must-Haves

  • Proven experience in:
  • Mobile application development using MAUI, .NET, Blazor, and Angular
  • Technical design of applications
  • Teaching/coaching developers (5+ years)
  • Estimating development efforts (5+ years)
  • Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Software security best practices
  • Git version control
  • SQL and document-oriented databases
  • Development across Dev/Acc/Prod environments
  • Experience developing mobile apps for an Energy Grid Operator (GRD)
  • Testing experience (unit, performance, security)
  • Strong knowledge of French (C2 level)
  • English proficiency (B1)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in Azure Cloud
  • Familiarity with backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
