At our Lummen site, SABCA Limburg, we are specialized in the manufacturing of high-tech composite assemblies for aircraft. On the one hand, we produce integrated

skins for flaps and stabilizers using two automatic tape-layers and very large autoclaves and of course, our colleagues’ extended know-how. In cooperation with the

Engineering office in Brussels, SABCA Limburg is also responsible for the flap track fairings of several aircraft.

On the other hand, the Space industry is also present in this plant with the final system integration of Ariane and Vega assemblies.

Mission:

For Sabca Limburg, we are looking for a team leader for Quality Control. You will be working at a nice company dedicated to the production of high-tech parts for aircraft and spacecraft. Including parts for the F35. The department consists of Quality Controllers and NDT inspectors. In terms of management, you ensure optimal preparation and internal planning of the work within your team so that the execution runs efficiently.

Tasks

  • You are a real people manager, you are responsible for conducting performance reviews, coaching (both technical and soft skills), motivating, encouraging and instructing employees
  • You know how to manage and coach the team in such a way that the planning is met both qualitatively and quantitatively. - You set team targets and performance management in good collaboration with the QC Manager.
  • You are strongly involved in the daily goals from your team
  • You have the ambition to become an expert in the department.
  • You are responsible for quality control
  • You keep a close eye on the progress of the output. Our ambition is to have every part of our line production inspected the next day. In case of findings an RDR have to be written within 48hrs after availability of the part in order to have a short feedback loop to production.
  • You are solution-oriented and proactive.
  • You improve the continuous improvement mindset within your department
  • You facilitate and stimulate an environment for continuous improvement with the aim of increasing quality and customer satisfaction 
  • You are the lynchpin between your team and other departments and ensure good cooperation between your team and the other departments
  • You are responsible for the following key objectives: safety, quality, customer satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, solution orientation and employee engagement. You keep the SQCDP and QC boards up to date.
  • You participate to the daily production meeting.
  • You monitor and approve the working hours and costs of your team.
  • You collaborate and assume responsibilities at your level with regard to the EN9100 quality standard and the ISO 14001 environmental standard.

Profile

  • Bachelor, or equivalent through experience.
  • You know how to communicate clearly and enthuse people.
  • You put safety and quality above all else.
  • You are responsible for the big picture and can manage the team efficiently and effectively.
  • You have an affinity with customers specs and EASA legislation.
  • You have experience in quality and/or Aviation and/or management of teams.
  • You are sincere and honest.
  • You are ambitious and looking for a new challenge.
