Job Purpose and Impact

The R&D Technician will provide analytical support for Cargill Starches, Sweetners and Texturizers in our European R&D Center based in Vilvoorde. In this role, you will be responsible for analysis of assigned samples, sample management, support for Pilot Plant trials and analytical interpretation of generated data.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage assigned R&D projects related daily activities like sample preparation, analysis of samples, recording all testing results etc.
  • Maintain & calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy of results, general laboratory maintenance and keep track of laboratory supply inventory.
  • Contribute and maintain good lab practices.
  • Perform in depth studies of current infrastructure and systems with the goal of identifying potential conflicts or problems or opportunities to improve operating stability and performance.
  • Provide analytical, promotional, administrative and sales support services.
  • Research and analyze important documentation for problem troubleshooting and resolution of performance or compatibility issues with hardware, operating systems or other software and utilities.
  • Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

  • Good oral & written communication skills.
  • Capability to write reports and present reports and collaborate with team members.
  • Curious, innovative, proactive and open to new technologies.
Prior Beneficial Experiences
  • Project management skills.
