Leuven Value Network ( ᒪ ᐯ ᑎ ) is a non-profit organization that hosts innovative networking activities where you can learn and connect with interesting individuals in a relaxed and inspiring environment. It is a non-profit organisation run by a team of senior students and young professionals, and is powered by Leuven MindGate. ᒪ ᐯ ᑎ accelerates value creation by bringing together the ambitious minds of Leuven via (digital or on-site) networking events.

Our core team consists of 4 full-timers and +/- 25 young potentials that each volunteered to contribute to this vision in their own area of expertise. Each member is active in one of four functional teams: HR, Community, Marketing & Business Development

Why you should join us

As a Business Developer intern, you will join our Business Development team in conducting classic functions such as market analysis, prospect seeking, and partner communication. During your internship, you will be supported on a daily basis by our Founder and the head of Business Development. Over time, we automatically zoom in on what you want to learn and adjust your mission accordingly. Our commitment to you as an intern is that we help you learn as much as possible and apply your skills.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you recognize yourself in the description below:

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
• Proficient in English in a working capacity (Dutch is a plus);
• Flexible (no 9-to-5 mentality);
• Organised (respecting timelines and deadlines);
• Taking initiative; working independently as well as collaborating in a team;
• A can-do attitude towards challenges;
• Keen to work with and learn about new digital tools (we work completely remotely);
• A strong sense of ownership and proactive growth mindset.
• You see yourself working 15 - 35h on a weekly basis for Leuven Value Network
• Experience as a business development or a similar role is a plus, but not required;

Note that the majority of the team meetings and activities tend to take place in the late afternoon and evening. Flexibility is very important to us and this is a requirement.

Role description

As a business developer intern, you will work with your teammates to identify and strategise the organization’s growth path. You will have the opportunity to work in these following areas:

• Analyse the market and seek for potential opportunities
• Investigate and contact potential prospects through calls or emails
• Follow up new business opportunities and set up meetings
• Plan and prepare presentations with current & potential partners
• Build long-term relationship with financial and strategic partners
• Actively participate in follow-ups & meetings with team members
• Frequent updates & reports on business progress

Working knowledge in any of these areas is a nice plus, but not a must have – we value passion over skills
