Senior Consultant | Public Affairs (Healthcare and Life Sciences) | Strategic Communications

About the Role

FTI Brussels is looking for a healthcare sector professional with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience. The candidate should have experience in Public Affairs and Communications with a particular focus in the health sector and ideally a work experience in the European institutions (e.g. Bluebook trainee).

In this role you will be part of a fast-growing team of 15 health experts who advise a broad range of clients at an EU, regional and global scale. Our clients include leading pharmaceutical companies, fast growing biotech, medical devices companies and digital health start-ups as well as leading EU and international healthcare trade associations, NGOs and patient organisations on a wide range of public policy and communications challenges.

As a Senior Consultant, you will work on different client accounts, as well as lead some of these, guide junior colleagues and support senior colleagues in building new business opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver to clients: provide strategic advice to a portfolio of clients, manage accounts on a day-to-day basis and develop excellent relationships with client groups; manage client relationships; creatively preparing and delivering the client programme.
• Build the business: seek out new business leads and work alongside other senior members of the team on business development activities such as pitch preparation and delivery.
• Team involvement: project line management for the team working on your clients and knowledge sharing, mentoring junior team members and act as team player
• Networking: proactively network with EU contacts and stakeholders as well as potential clients.
• Marketing: support FTI activities going to market, market your own thought leadership.
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity and asks the necessary questions to manage firm and client data responsibly.
• Understands FTI’s values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice and demonstrates a strong commitment to applying these concepts in daily interactions with colleagues and clients. How You’ll Grow

You will have the opportunity to work in some of the most challenging and fascinating public policy issues currently being tackled in the health sector and advise key companies and organisations. You will be part of a dynamic and multinational team of experts based in Brussels and you will be able to work closely with other FTI practices, offices and segments.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong academic background
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in a consultancy, in-house, trade body, NGO, public institution or advising clients on policy and communications issues
• Proven skills in public affairs, advocacy, issues and reputation management in the health sector
• Excellent understanding and experience of working with policymakers and stakeholders in Brussels and in national capitals
• Strong knowledge of the health sector, regulation and policy discussions
• Excellent English with one or two additional languages preferable
• Great writing skills and a good understanding of communications, corporate reputation
• A self-starter with a can-do-attitude
