DHL Express is seeking for a Senior Controller, based in Diegem, Belgium.

As aSenior Controller,you implement plans and processes for financial planning, analysis and management. You advise the management team in line with business objectives, Group standards, accounting principles and regulations. You are the first point of contact for all European and Global Head Office Finance topics.

• Support to Finance Manager and be able to take over all the activities when out of office
• Perform month-end closing activities according to month-end schedule
• Analysis of month-end results and management reporting
• Preparation and submission of monthly financial reports for Management
• Guide business managers to better interpret financial information and draw conclusions
• Ensure that all financial data is in compliance with corporate accounting policies and IFRS
• Participate in system/process improvement and standardization initiatives
• Participate in review and improvement in existing processes
• Participate day-to-day finance controlling operations
• Investigation of queries and abnormalities
• Control Entities / Cost Center structure / Approval Matrixes
• Co-ordinate forecasting and planning processes
• Support business owners in preparation and analysis of business cases
• Preparation of system/interface reconciliations in terms of all possible categories (accounts/cost centers)
• Preparation/processing of judgmental accruals and provisions
• Financial transparency in line with IFRS and DP DHL policy
• Support Finance Manager in the different audits
• Ensure positive relationship with the business partners
• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DPDHL managers
• Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees

• University level in Accounting / Controlling or equivalent by experience
• Good knowledge of IFRS principles and Tax Management are considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Controlling principles
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Expert Microsoft Office Excel And Access
• Good knowledge of English, other European languages are considered an asset
• Good in numbers and strong analytical skills
• Good communicator
• Independent thinker
• Good stress resistance, ability to work with short deadlines, ability to work on various tasks at the same time
• Positive can do mentality, always looking for improvements
• Team player
• Working under the supervision of the Finance Manager
• Certain level of flexibility regarding working hours (Month-end closure, ad-hoc tasks on exceptional basis)
• Travelling maybe required when business needs: knowledge transfer, business reviews, visit accounting centers
• Travelling is expected to be less than 25%.
