We are looking for a Senior Scientistwith strong and proven laboratory skills, to join us in our Biotech Sciences team, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About The Role

You provide scientific expertise in the field of bioanalytical development/validation for projects from early clinical phases to commercial.

The team is responsible for the development of robust and efficient biological methods, validation of those methods to the required regulatory requirement standards and for their transfer to internal or external partners.

The group also provides analytical support and expertise to product understanding/characterization and is responsible for transferring methodology, technology, data and preparing regulatory submissions with business partners. All activities must be delivered to appropriate agreed quality standards and timelines and in accordance with group and departmental objectives.

Who You Will Work With

You will partner with an enthusiastic Scientific team and interact daily with other key teams of the department and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Design experiments
  • Autonomously manage, supervise and perform daily laboratory activities related to biological method development, validation, transfers, support to process, investigations
  • Prepare and review/approve documentation (procedures, protocols, reports)
  • Analyze results & verify data
  • Present/discuss results in project team meetings
  • Represent the group in cross functional project teams
  • Liaise with other departments (QC, research) or external partners to ensure analytical knowledge transfer
  • Ensure day to day scientific assistance to solve analytical issues on the techniques run in the laboratory
  • Contribute to collaboration with regulatory department to ensure successful application, timely and scientifically base answer to authorities request
  • Contribute to implementation of new technologies where appropriate

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in relevant bioanalytical techniques for Biologicals in a pharmaceutical company and in a GMP regulated laboratory
  • Proven experience as a scientist preferably in the biotech industry
  • Expertise in bioanalytical techniques for biologicals including manipulation of cells in the frame of bioassay, ELISA techniques, qPCR, electrophoresis
  • Strong and proven laboratory skills
  • Ability to author/review and approve comprehensive and accurate procedures, protocols and reports
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and of GMP/GSP rules
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, provide leadership and prioritization
  • Ability to manage people through projects to work in a matrix and customer-oriented environment
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate and maintain good working relationships within the team and with internal/external customers/partners
  • Good knowledge of English & French
