Team Description

Your team and your responsibilities

Vehicle Logistics (VLG) is responsible for the transportation (whether by vessel, rail or truck) of Toyota and Lexus vehicles from our Overseas – and Local Plants, to ports of export, inland compounds and/or retailers in Europe.

For those countries, where we assume responsibility till the retailer, our vehicles are customised (Post Production Option Installations) and checked (Pre-Delivery Inspection) in our hubs, all strategically located within Europe.

This activity represents a budget more than €500 million/year.

The Vehicle Logistics Group seeks to challenge ‘Plant-to-Retailer’ lead-time, improve delivery performance and reduce cost through the application of Toyota Production System.

Located in the heart of Europe, Vehicle Logistics plays a key strategic role in the delivery of our vehicles On-Time, In-Time, Every-time. As a buyer you will develop and manage all aspects of the commercial relationship between Toyota Hubs and its Logistics Partners, located all over Europe. This position will allow you to have a deep understanding of how VLG operates and interacts with numerous internal and external parties.

Your Responsibilities

• You support our Network Team in the re-design of our current and future structure to support our ongoing expansion and improvements to support the TME future business volumes
• Your contribution is to maintain the Strategic Commercial Relationship with our Hub Logistic partners, you have a key role to ensure our ongoing success as we transform our network.
• Scope of the role covers all commercial issues related to VLG Hub Operations such as Hub Services Price Setting + Contracting and Monitor Cost Evolution
• Ensuring Periodic Executive review covering:
• Logistic Partner Performance (hub).
• Contract Negotiation
• Cost Reduction opportunity and implementation whilst maintaining operations’ efficiency
• Strategy for new and existing contract tendering as required; Covering all aspects of LP performance Cost, Quality and Lead-time.
• Supporting any daily commercial or performance gaps
• Responsible for a budget of about 130€M

Your Profile

Background

Master in Purchasing, Engineering or Logistics.

Skills

• Proficiency in English, any other European language is an asset
• You have minimum 3 years of experience in in a Purchasing / Logistics environment within an international company. Experience in Automotive sector is an asset.
• You have strong numerical, logical, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• You have Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint (Power BI & Access is an asset)
• Ability to develop creative ways for operational and cost improvements
• Ability to work independently, yet manage projects as part of a team
• Have strong planning, coordination and organizing skills
• Able to discuss & communicate with many stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and requirements
• Flexible mindset to work in different simultaneous projects
