Region NCE > SBU NCE Service > Service BE, NL & APAC

Service Offshore is a function within Vestas Northern & Central Europe (NCE) Offshore. The Offshore Service Department is responsible for providing all service and maintenance work for the offshore wind turbines in the Vestas portfolio. Further the operational activities are split into three clusters where Cluster 3 covers activities in Belgium and The Netherlands. Cluster 3 will in the coming years be servicing and maintaining more than 5GW of installed capacity.

Cluster 3 employs in the range of 150 employees and further makes use of many subcontractors that require management and leadership. The Service Director for Cluster 3 reports to the Vice President for NCE Service offshore where also a number of supporting functions are organized. In total NCE Service Offshore employs >1100 people.

Responsibilities

As Service Director you will be working out of one of our offices in the region and reporting to our Vice President for Service Operations. You will be P&L responsible for service sites in the region. Your main responsibility will be supervising the delivery of all scope under the Service Contracts as well as development and leadership of the team and overall management of the business. Besides, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Service Managers on the wind farms and ensure that they have the best prerequisites for leading their team members and continuously aim towards a work environment where everyone can feel “safe and well”
  • Support our growth plans where a main cornerstone will be our ability to “attract, retain and develop” the right people
  • Develop prosperous partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that health and safety at work and environmental policies are implemented, maintained and updated as per local requirements
  • Deliver a “great customer experience” and promote a strategy for customers and operations in the cluster
  • Create “world class delivery” through mid-long-term strategies and handle regional P&L balance, KPI’s, turnover and budget for the NCE Service Offshore activities
  • Make investment proposals to improve the Service Offshore Organization and safeguard effective deployment of resources, processes and procedures and actively support business activities to increase operational and financial efficiency

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant Masters’ degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain or equivalent field
  • Solid experience from working in a similar position in an international service organisation within the wind or offshore industry
  • Proven experience with leadership and people management. The role supports further layers of management so the ability to “oversee other leaders” is a key qualification
  • Good business skills and a customer-focused, solution- and improvement-oriented mindset
  • Financial insight and experience with full P&L responsibility, which includes knowledge of key figures and KPI’s
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Preferably also fluency in Dutch (Flemish), both verbally and in writing

Additional Information

Your work location will be at one of our offices in either Belgium or The Netherlands. However frequent presence in our main locations in Ijmuiden and Oostende is required.

Approximately 60 travel days per year is to be expected.
