What´s In It For You

In this role, you will be a key player in managing supplier site readiness, performance, and development activities within the Platform, Vehicle structure area. You will be involved in all phases of the Volvo supplier business, from the project phase to running production and aftermarket. Your main responsibility, in collaboration with the Global Category Team and Procurement Plant Team, is to secure supplier readiness in projects and challenge suppliers to continuously improve their Q&D performance to Volvo plants in running production.

In this role, you will contribute to the company´s growth but as well to your own personal and professional development.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for supplier site performance for your suppliers including all phases in supplier´s Volvo business. It is your task to lead and guide suppliers to take ownership of their Q&D performance deliveries; supplier site readiness and quality assurance in projects using APQP and PPAP principles and challenge your suppliers to continuously improve their Q&D performance status. You are responsible for supplier´s performance in running production and will support Procurement Plant Team with supplier process knowledge for evaluation of supplier analyses if needed as well as supporting urgent plant activities and escalations linked to supplier Q&D performance.

As input for strategic and sourcing decisions, you will perform supplier site evaluations (SEMAT for sourcing) to support your Global Category team.

We are looking for a person with experience in quality assurance of supplier manufacturing processes. You have high self-drive and enjoy and promote pro-active work and mindset as well as understanding the importance of sense of urgency for solving disturbances caused by our suppliers.

  • have very good experience from working with Volvo supplier quality assurance tools and processes (SEMAT, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D etc)
  • are used to and feel confident to challenge suppliers and not afraid to face demanding situations
  • are confident in representing Volvo during supplier meetings and visits
  • are prestige less, courageous and curious
  • always take ownership of your area of responsibility
  • are focused on setting and reaching goals
  • can handle parallel activities and are able to prioritize
  • are excellent in building relations both internally and externally
  • are a strong team player who is honest, open, and supportive
  • work actively with self-development.
To succeed in this role, you have a Business or Technical University degree (or equivalent).

You have experience from Quality and/or Engineering work (4+ years) including Supplier Quality performance assurance. Experience within stamping component manufacturing processes is seen as an advantage.

You also have high integrity and can prioritize your own work and you always deliver on time.

You will work in a global environment so excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English is a requirement and additional languages are advantageous.

Frequent traveling to supplier sites can be required and is a part of the job.
