This new and key role will be part of the Automation Development SME team. Mission is to drive the vision of automation across the Belgium sites, by leading the definition, implementation and application of Automation Strategy related to Data management. The team provide dedicated expertise to support automation operations & deliver transversal projectsforWavre, Rixensart and Gembloux to ensure that all systems, equipment and facilities are properly maintained, safe, reliable and compliant with GAMP.

The new manager is the expert in automation projects for primary and secondary equipment, building equipment, utility equipment, environmental monitoring, alarms system, …). He is delivering data Management solutions and/or expertise in GSK Vaccines Belgium (existing facility upgrades and new facility).
The duty of the manager is to support technical project across GSK Vaccines Belgian sites. The manager must be able to propose direct and integrated solutions to highly complex technical problems and ensure the delivery of solutions from design to end of qualification, while providing appropriate expertise, training, coaching and mentoring of users, maintenance, automation technicians and automation specialist.
Your responsibilities :
- Design, develop and modify data infrastructure to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting
- Develop standards of operation when handling and archiving data (OSIPI AF/EF structure)
- Assess system performance and make recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements
- Provide leadership to a core group of technical engineers GSK or Contingents in the development of data management guidance
- Ensure good exchange between GSK departments (quality assurance, user production, MSAT, hard technology, asset care, TECH, Global Engineering) to ensure an appropriate automation delivery
- Support the full data management system lifecycle for process automation. Contribute to manage and simplify several system/process/domain(s), to reach state of the art in production environment.
- Share MES Global equipment catalogue with BEL facilities to ensure harmonized connectivity solutions are deployed
- Interact with MES Program Lead, Global Automation Lead, Site Automation Leads (Community of Practice), Local MES Project Leads, Supplier in regular meetings
- Ensure Automation connectivity is implemented in Alignment with Global Automation Strategy
- Support & enhance Interface between MES and OSIPI during the eBR designs, installation etc.
- Previous experience working in GxP environment and Computer Systems Validation is mandatory
- Be with open and agile mind-set, team player. Take on any ad-hoc short missions if required to ensure overall Project is delivered swiftly
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical or Chemical
- Robust experience with automation projects
- Background in the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred
- Data Software skills is highly preferred (OSI-PI, MES, etc.)
- Strong leadership skills & proven team management
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Strong networking, influencing and negotiation skills to engage a broad community of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of specific Automation subjects as Data Management & Data Integrity, Obsolescence management, Cyber Security, process control systems is a plus
- PMP / Prince 2 certification is a plus
- About 6-9 years of Engineering experience in the pharmaceutical industry
