Job purpose:

Work in a global team of statistical / data analytics experts to provide support for all aspects of statistics and data analytics within GIO and Quality organization during the lifecycle of assays, products and processes.

Contribute to multidisciplinary multicultural teams (task forces, investigations, improvement projects) to provide input to assessments by application of statistical and data analytics methodologies and appropriate interpretation.

Your responsibilities:

In this role you,

  • Provide expertise statistics support, guidance and consultation for all aspects of statistics and data analytics, e.g. to project teams. This especially includes contribution to improvement projects, resolution of deviations and task forces.
  • Ensure integrity of statistical evaluation by ensuring application of appropriate statistical methodologies and traceability / reproducibility.
  • Document, report and communicate results and conclusions in the form of technical documents and presentations.
  • Take full ownership and accountability of all statistical content. Typical applications include planning and evaluation of experiments (DoE), sample size calculation, process and method validation, assay or process trending, assay or process transfers.
  • Contribute to local and global documents with statistical content, e.g. SOPs, guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of data analyses with internal and external requirements (e.g. GSK QMS, GSK Vaccines VSOPs, Ph.Eur., ICH/FDA guideline).
  • Support site implementation of GSK Vaccines requirements related to product, process and analytical assays.
  • Contribute to development, alignment and standardization of data evaluation methodologies and conventions.This especially includes cooperation and exchange with statisticians within GQC&PQ, TRD and local statistical contacts.
  • Contribute to statistical trainings for associates on the application of statistics and data evaluation tools.
  • Support improvement of Data collection and management to enable quick and reliable data analysis

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with the following required skills to achieve our goals (must-have):

  • this position requires to live in Belgium or to relocate in Belgium
  • University degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science or related field or comparable experiences
  • Statistics / mathematics and/or computer science / programming
  • Job requires analytical mindset, advanced skills in data analyses,modeling and statistics
  • 2 years of work experience in applying statistics and/or programming within industry/university, preferable within pharmaceutical industry in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  • Job requires ability to work as statistician in agile international cross-cultural cross functional teams.
  • Expertise in applying statistics (preferred within pharmaceutical industry).
  • Ability to select and apply adequate statistical models. Consequently, question model assumptions and technical conditions.
  • Ability to derive clear and conclusive recommendations from statistical analyses.
  • Ideally knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, e.g, stability guidelines (ICH, USP), relevant chapters from Eur.Ph.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written). Second language desirable (e.g. French, German, Italian).
  • Good programming skills with at least one statistical programming language, preferable R, SAS, Python.
  • Ability to prepare suitable training content and to support efficient training session
  • Customer focused; ability to understand requirements of statistical request.
  • Agile and proactive working style.
  • Ability to deliver value early and frequently, e.g. by using short feedback cycles.
  • Ability to adapt / accommodate flexible work demands.
  • Ability to manage networks and build relationships with customers.
  • Ability of working in a multidisciplinary multicultural setting and across geographic boundaries.
