We are currently looking for a Strategy, Marketing and Business Improvement Manager.
Context of the role:
In line with our overall company objective to be the safest, most diverse, and most profitable industrial gas company, offering excellent service to our customers, the Strategy, Marketing and Business Improvement Manager is responsible for ensure Northern Continent (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France) industrial merchant gases profitable growth and overall business performance improvement, through strategy development, strategic projects management, pricing excellence, portfolio management and operational marketing execution in line with out Five-Point Plan: Sustain the lead, deploy capital, evolve portfolio, culture change and everybody belong and matters.

Team structure and reporting lines: The Strategy, Marketing and Business Improvement manager is leading a team of 9 people with 4 direct reports. This role is closely working with the Vice President of the region, the regional Leadership team (especially Country Business Managers, Network Manager, Controller and Energy Manager) as well with the European Strategic Marketing Director, EU Marketing Leadership team (especially with Pricing, BRT, Strategy Marketing, Sustainability, Digital,…) and EU corporate communication.

As our Strategy, Marketing and Business Improvement Manager, your responsibilities are:

Business Improvementto drive profitable merchant growth and improve business performance to ‘Sustain the lead’ by
  • Leading pricing/conversion margin strategy
    • Lead price to market strategy for our products
    • Define, plan and support implementation of pricing programs and their evaluation, including new price components
    • Monitoring competition prices & inflation
    • Follow-up on customer pricing offerings & according hedges
  • Leading and supporting portfolio programs in the countries to drive profitable growth – focusing on improving the density of our business, on higher value products, customers and segments
    • Support the development of MSU plans in respect of country specific goals; development of power zones, focus on differentiation to mitigate commoditization of our products
    • Improving the business mix (products / geographies / customers) to sustainable profitable business mix
  • Business intelligence step up and ‘KISS’ initiative (‘simplicity’)
    • Actively participate on development, improvement of the margin enhancement tools
    • Ensure tools are maintained to support right decisions within the company and adopted in the region
  • Setting the business rules in line with delegation of authority for new business or changes at existing business

Strategyto drive our profitable growth in line with our 5-Point plan, ‘Deploy Capital’ and ‘Evolve Portfolio’, especially focusing on our Packaged Gas and Liquid Bulk business to reinforce our position in our key geographies and develop new strength zones through organic and inorganic (M&A) actions.
  • Drive Subregional strategy development (3+ years). Support strategic countries` business plans cascade
  • Lead/support the launch of new products, entry to new segments or opening/developing new channels to serve our customers
  • Lead/support the entry to new geographies
  • Develop solid pipeline of M&A projects together with country business managers. Lead / support the building of the business case

Marketing Excellence in Packaged Gas & Liquid Bulk to develop journey to excellence in marketing and customer experience to ‘Sustain the lead’ by leading digital strategy, marketing transformation initiative, ensuring development of country and NC plans, budget and execution.
  • Align or support the alignment of strategy/countries` goals and marketing plan
  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategy
  • Develop targeted offering/campaignand right tools to execute them with marketing and commercial teams
  • Monitor the competitors` activities

Sustainability to lead key initiatives within Northern Continent in line with our NC ambition, including ‘Belong and Matters’ programs as ‘Feel Good’ or ‘Culture Change’ programs as IS026000.

Moreover, the role is supporting the Northern Continent VP in all quarterly & kick-off communication to employees, in budget presentation process and support any ad hoc strategic projects.

Your Profile:
  • Master Degree in economics, business or engineering
  • Strong strategic mindset, analytical skills, business sense, stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Fluency in English
