Are you ready to develop your career in Supply Chain in the pharmaceutical industry?

As our new Supply Chain and Customer Service Specialist you will interact with the most diverse internal and external customers whilst having a complete end-to-end overview on the supply chain process.

You will coordinate the day-to-day local supply chain and customer service activities within Belgium and Luxembourg by building strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners while focusing on providing adequate services and cost efficiency.

In this position you will have the opportunity to grow, at a local and global level - Boehringer Ingelheim is a family-owned company, so we don’t think in quarters, but in generations! You will work in our new office in Brussels while reporting directly to Head of S&OP and Customer Service.


Further key responsibilities:

  • Execute all day-to-day activities regarding customer order management (order taking, processing, billing, returns)

  • Coordinate delivery of products to customers in line with best practices, regulatory requirements and in compliance with internal processes

  • Day-to-day coordination of 3PL/freight forwarders/customs brokers and coordinate all activities regarding customs and import, inbound logistics, warehousing, transportation, outbound logistics/export

  • Conduct inventory management, incl. coordination of re-packaging, planning of locally sourced finished product SKUs, regular review of short-dated inventory, version changes

  • Supply chain cost optimization, incl. reduction of inventory destructions and overall cost optimization of SCM and customer service activities in Belgium and Luxembourg

  • Provide customer service input to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting for all business segments in the country

  • Coordinate and manage Customer and Material Master data maintenance.


What you should bring to the team:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Economics with specialization in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (SCM)

  • Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes

  • Previous relevant working experience in supply chain and/or customer service functions is a plus (if you have recently finished your studies you are welcome to apply as well)

  • Knowledge in customer service and commercial SCM processes, particularly inventory management (pharmaceutical industry, fast moving consumer goods industry) is a plus

  • Excellent command of the Dutch, French, and English languages

  • Know-how in ERP and analytics and mass data processing tools (i.e., Excel, SAP) is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills with diverse customers and external contacts

  • You deliver high quality results, despite challenging conditions

  • Together with your customers you come up with innovative ideas to respond to changing markets

  • Prioritize your work, and drive execution excellence through high level of accuracy and team working.
